What is DBT?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of therapy that helps people who experience emotions very intensely. It was developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan.

The "Dialectical" part means that two opposite ideas can be true at the same time. In DBT, the core dialectic is **Acceptance** and **Change**. We work on accepting yourself as you are, while also working to change your behaviors and build a life worth living.
